Responsibility and communication

There is a sender and a receiver in communication. A cause of much conflict can be the uncertain of who is responsible for messages being understood: the sender, or the receiver? 

Like all big questions, the answer is generally it depends/both, however I find it appealing to lean toward taking more responsibility as the sender – particularly in a leadership capacity.
